We are proud to be a Community Interest Company. Our mission is to enable our clients to live at home in dignity knowing that they are cared for, giving them and their family peace of mind. We currently provide care in Rugeley covering the surrounding villages such as Hixon, Little Haywood, Great Haywood, Weston, Fradley, Longdon, Upper Longdon and Lower Longdon. We are working to expand our services to other parts of the area so call us today to find out if we can help you.

At Cherishers, our staff will dedicate their time caring for you in your own home. They will support you to lead as active a life as possible. Our caregivers are highly motivated, caring and well-trained individuals who will uphold your right to be treated with dignity and respect. They will assist you in making informed decisions about your care, allowing you to realise your full potential in a safe environment.

We have a team of carers many of whom have previously worked or in the healthcare sector. All of our carers have experience of caring for others and for which it is a real vocation for them.

Julie C

About Julie: 

Julie Edensor is the CEO and Director of Cherishers having founded the company in August 2018.

Julie has worked in the Social Care Field for over 30 years with various customer groups including older people, people with a learning disability, people with physical disabilities, residential, nursing and supported living. Julie has worked in partnership with other large organisations and individuals. Julie has dedicated her life to “make a societal difference” and therefore founded Cherishers 811 CIC. All Cherishers customers are at the centre of what they do.

Away from work Julie enjoys spending time with her dogs, is very active in her local church and other community projects.

Paul Waite1A

About Paul: 

Paul Waite is the proud Patron of Cherishers 811 CIC. Paul is one of the UK’s Top 100 CEO’s and has over 28yrs entrepreneurial experience having worked with some of the world’s biggest brands and organisations. Through his leadership last year his own company was one of the fastest growing in the country getting them into UK top 100 accountancy firms.

Paul passionately believes in Corporate Responsibility and has financially supported Cherishers since its inception in 2018. Through his commitment to Cherishers, we have been able to get people who have barriers to traditional employment back into paid employment. We are proud of our partnership with Aspen Waite in transforming and changing lives.

Dor C

About Dorothy: 

Dorothy Shambambeva is the registered manager with the CQC for Cherishers 811 CIC. Dorothy is an experienced Social Worker with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry.

Dorothy is passionate about making a difference in peoples and ensuring that a person-centred approach is central to the care we provide. She is highly skilled in Social Services and a respected community and social services professional with a bachelor’s degree focused in Social Work from The Open University.

Nyasha C

About Nyasha: 

Nyasha Gwatidzo is a highly respected pioneer in the social care sector, a trained Social Worker and Psychotherapist. Nyasha’s social work started over 30yrs ago by her running a therapy group for teenage girls who had been sexually abused. This developed into Nyasha setting up the UK’s first independently run therapeutic home for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, in July 1992. Since then, she founded Banya Family Placement and has gone onto help over 7,000 children in the UK and 5,000 in Zimbabwe.

Away from work Nyasha enjoys travelling, walking is very active in her other 9 social enterprises across the globe.

Alec1

About Alec: 

Alec Jones-Hall is our deputy registered manager with the CQC and a director of Cherishers 811 CIC. Alec has over 15 years’ entrepreneurial experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to co-ordinate our business activities. Alec places great emphasis on the ethos that the ‘customer comes first’ and passionately believes that everything we do should be ‘customer driven’ and directly aimed at improving the lives of those we provide care and support to.

Alec is currently in the process of completing his Level 5 Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care.

Away from work Alec enjoys a good box set, cooking or baking!

Allison D

About Allison: 

Allison is our training manager and a director of Cherishers 811 CIC. Allison has over 30yrs experience working in the recruitment sector and for of the world’s biggest agencies. She brings to Cherishers her of experience supporting individuals directly as well as managing staff teams. Alison is involved developing and delivering training packages. She is experienced in staff management, appraisal and managing a service that supports people who have needs that may challenge. Alison believes that everyone is important and that everyone should be supported to reach their potential.  

Away from work Allison enjoys a good film, walking and spending time with her friends and family.

About Sandra: 

Sandra Berns is our HR Manager for Cherishers 811 CIC. Sandra is a Human Resources and Organisational Development Expert with 25+ years demonstrable experience in operational and strategic HR across Public and Private sectors. Having worked extensively within the NHS as an associate Director of Workforce for Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust Sandra brings a wealth of experience.

Sandra believes the way to achieve desired outcomes is through engaging people; linking employees to the customer experience positions them both at the heart of what we do.

Away from work Sandra enjoys running, sports and spending time with her family.

Sharon11

About Sharon: 

Sharon Sharples is our Senior Care Coordinator at Cherishers 811 CIC. She has gained vast experience within the care sector having worked for over 15 years as in various roles within large residential care homes. Sharon has her Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care and is passionate to about making a positive difference in the lives of those we care for. She works tirelessly to ensure that all the teams are fully equipped with everything they need to always provide the highest standard of care.

Away from work Sharon enjoys reading, sowing and spending time with her family.
